Mutual Funds Get ‘Graded’ on ESG Values Using This Online Tool

For investors trying to assess whether their mutual funds are aligned with their values, they now can add a San Francisco-based nonprofit’s expanded report card for funds.

As You Sow, which focuses on shareholder advocacy, last year released a new, free online tool to show investors how well their funds rank in terms of gender equity.

Today, the report card can also provide grades on several other environmental and social issues, including fossil fuels, deforestation, and weapons. “These tools empower every investor, from employees with a 401(k) retirement plan to individual investors, to know what they own so they can invest in a future that they want to live in,” says Andy Behar, chief executive officer of As You Sow.
