As Senior Counsel, Richard leads the development of As You Sow's high-profile impact litigation and legal strategy to advance and defend shareholder rights and the unique legal landscape of shareholder-related environmental, social, and governance issues. Richard has an extensive background in administrative and constitutional law from his time at the Federal Election Commission where he served as an enforcement attorney and counsel to former Chair of the Commission, Ellen L. Weintraub. Richard brings years of trial experience as a former prosecutor, where he first chaired over 200 jury and bench trials to verdict. He holds a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and a B.A. in Environmental Analysis & Policy from Boston University.
